Estepona Fishermen’s Route

Join us to discover how the fishermen of Estepona work—up close and in person.

Estepona is a charming town on the Costa del Sol, and this tour takes you into the heart of its artisanal fishing tradition. We’ll set out to accompany the fishing boats and witness the hard daily life of the local fishermen. Along the way, you’ll learn about the different traditional fishing methods they use.

The entire route is guided by our native Estepona "marinera" (seafaring guide), who will share her deep knowledge and personal connection to the sea.

At the Fishing Port, we’ll board our vessel and head out to find the local fishing boats. Onboard, the crew—led by a fisherman's wife—will explain all the details of artisanal fishing: its unique aspects, real-life stories, and even live demonstrations of how nets, octopus traps (known as “pucheros” or “nasas”), and other gear are used and retrieved.

After disembarking back at the Fishing Port, we’ll continue the guided tour around the most iconic fishing-related sites in Estepona.
