We wanted to distinguish ourselves from the rest of the market by returning to the roots of flamenco and its earliest beginnings.
Between 1920 and 1955, flamenco performances were held in bullrings and theatres. These shows became known as Flamenco Opera (Ópera Flamenca).
During this period, flamenco performances spread throughout Spain and the world’s major cities. The great social and commercial success achieved by flamenco at that time led to some of the oldest and most austere styles disappearing from the stage.
With Flamenco Opera came a period of open creativity that shaped much of today’s flamenco repertoire. Great artists such as Manuel Torre, Antonio Chacón, Pepe Marchena, La Niña de los Peines and Manolo Caracol stood out during this era.
For this reason, we want to bring back to Madrid the essence of those performances, including choirs, violin and a few other surprises.
