Details
The tour begins in Realejo where you can enjoy the city views from the hill of Granada. In the old Sephardic Jewish neighborhood of Granada we will explain the causes of the near-complete disappearance of its footprint in the city and the importance of its recovery in the 21st century.
A visit to the Corrala de Santiago, where you’ll get to know the culture of the neighboring Corralas.
We’ll then walk up the steep steps of the Realejo streets where you can get spectacular photos between the alleys and houses that has architecture that beautifully contrasts with the rest of Granada.
We then will arrive at the Alhambra Palace Hotel, where you’ll get to learn about the hotel’s history and the moment that the Alhambra became such an important monument that we all appreciate greatly today.
We will descend to one of the most universally renowned locations for graffiti art, where we will closely observe paintings by local artists that dress the walls and streets of trailblazing cities around the world such as New York, Argentina, Portugal, France, Venezuela, Holland, Mexico, Italy, Hungary or Belgium.
In this important corner, we can take pictures from close-up and take in these incredible art pieces first hand.
Not only do plastic and architectural works makeup the beautiful art legacy of the realejo, we will stop before continuing our tour in the square Joe Strummer. Strummer, a famous singer and guitarist of Clash left a massive impact in Granada’s rock music scene along with the band 091.
We will continue towards the Paseo del Salón, on the banks of the Genil River. This nineteenth-century French walk will take us to an era of great romanticism, where the bourgeois strolled by beautifully adorned carriages on a sunny afternoon. This marks a perfect place to end the visit and ideal location to eat and explore.
